It is also interesting how Carravaggio is praised. They are of course fantastic and very good works. But look how hard the lighting is, and how hard this realism becomes because of it. It comes close to photography or hyperrealism. Is it the spirit of the times that reflects today? Could its popularity be linked to the current time?
